Eye Examinations

Wigram and Ware provide a complete 1 hour fully comprehensive eye examination, employing state of the art technology as standard.

About our standard fully comprehensive eye examination.

As a private practice we feel that we can offer our patients a level of care that extends far beyond the scope of the standard NHS eye examination.

We allow time to fully understand your visual and ocular needs ensuring that you enjoy the best eye health and vision possible.

  • Hour long eye examination
  • Detailed scans/imaging
  • All tests are conducted by qualified opticians
  • Eye examinations are tailored to your specific ocular and visual needs
  • A detailed consultation where we listen and discuss your ocular requirements and concerns in detail

We will provide an up to date prescription and a thorough look at the health of your eyes.  This includes Glaucoma screening, OCT scans of the back and front of your eyes, visual field examinations and any additional tests required.  We will conclude with a discussion on the best solution for your visual needs before handing on, if required, to one of our dispensing opticians to select the best spectacles or contact lenses.

This is a thorough examination conducted in its entirety by a fully qualified optician; please allow an hour for the exam itself and a little longer for choosing spectacles.  Please be assured that every person taking care of your eyes within the practice is a qualified and registered practitioner.

Our eyes are irreplaceable. We only get one pair. They are our most precious sense. An eye examination can detect early signs of health problems, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Sight loss can be avoidable.

Eye problems can develop long before the symptoms can be seen or felt.

A sight test or eye examination is like a mini health care check as well as finding out if you require a prescription to make your vision more comfortable. If we find that a prescription will help you to see more easily then, it may be possible for you to have correcting contact lenses in preference to spectacles.
